Students Go Behind The Scenes at Beautycon POP in Los Angeles

Instructor Taryn Aronson took her Fundamentals of Cosmetics class (COSM 2450) to Beautycon POP for a behind-the-scenes view of the exhibit. The Beauty Marketing and Product Development students learned what went into the making of the various interactive spaces, and gained special access as it hadn’t yet opened to the public.

Beautycon POP is an experiential pop-up created by the team behind Beautycon LA and Beautycon NYC. POP is designed for discovery, community and picture-perfect moments and is open until December 16.

For the final class project, Taryn is challenging her students to create their own color brand complete with three new core items and a seasonal color story. As part of their project they’ll also create an interactive space for their brand for Beautycon POP (or the appropriate festival of choice) for their launch.

In addition to being a faculty member at FIDM, Taryn is a graduate of the Beauty Program and of UCLA has been bringing brands to life through social media marketing, online community building, and testimonial recruitment for nearly a decade. Her clients have included Pixi, Kate Somerville, Josie Maran, Too Faced, Urban Decay, and Smashbox.
